Bill, Jim and Bob are the three judges on the panel who will be choosing the winners from the array of great entries we have had this year. They are all old bike enthusiasts with years of experience of restoring, owning and riding old bikes. See below for a brief introduction to each of them.
Bill’s first bike was an ex WD side valve 350 Triumph 3s and he raced a Velocette Venom Clubman and AJS 7R. 20 years ago he decided to restore his Dad’s 1937 Triumph T80 which he had sensibly stored since the 1960’s. Somehow this was followed by another 5 bikes all of which he has restored bar one which is a modernish BMW RT1200. Bill is Chairman of the Berkshire Section of the VMCC and a member of the Berkshire Branch of the TOMCC.
Jim has been riding bikes since 1978 without a break. He has been a member of the Berkshire Branch of the TOMCC since 2014 and the BSA Owners club since 1985. His current bikes are a 1972 Triumph TR5T, a 2001 Triumph Bonneville, a 1971 BSA B25SS and a 1971 BSA A65T. He has restored bikes from BSA Bantams to Sunbeam S8 and a Honda CL450 among many others.
Bob is a long-time motorcyclist, engineer, restorer and rocker who first started riding at the age of 12 (on a 1955 Triumph Speed Twin). He has been member of the Berkshire Branch of the TOMCC for nearly 30 years and is still actively involved in numerous aspects of motorcycling and restoration with a particular interest in original machines which have lived a life, as well as those custom “special builds”.
